Welcome to the St. Marys Rotary Club!

Welcome

"Fellowship Through Service"

Our theme for this year is “Fellowship Through Service.” Our overriding goal is to help both the St. Marys Rotary Club and the St. Marys Community find a New Normal, and recover from the many effects of the Corona Virus Pandemic while remaining safe.

First, to accommodate our members’ needs to remain safe, we will be adopting masking, sanitation, and social distancing guidelines as recommended by Governor DeWine and the Auglaize County Health Commissioner, Dr. Juan Torres. In addition, our members (and the general public) may attend our meetings via Zoom. We publish the Zoom meeting ID and password each week in the President’s weekly message. You are welcome to join and can contact any St. Marys Rotary member for the credentials.

We have always focused on helping our community in our Six Areas of Focus for service:
• Fighting disease
• Supporting mothers
• Supporting education
• Growing local economies
• Promoting peace
• Providing clean water

We will undertake projects (including with other community groups) to help St. Marys and area citizens first and foremost this year. For example, we will continue to support (both financially and with volunteers) senior citizens, student activities and post secondary scholarships, Auglaize County Crisis Center, food banks, Boy Scouts, Arts Place, St. Marys Community Library, Little Free Libraries throughout the community, high school students through our sponsored Interact Club, and many other community organizations. We will also participate in select global initiatives including the permanent eradication of polio in the world and maternal and baby health. We will sponsor social gatherings outside of our weekly meetings for our members and for the public at large to meet with us, network and have an opportunity to support our local projects. We have traditionally raised funds for projects from our members and with Rotary Foundation grants for specific projects. We will also raise funds through community based events such as our Annual Auction, Food Truck Rally, Flag Project. Carp Tournament, etc. These funds are all returned to the community through projects and financial support of other community organizations. We will continue to strive to have a meaningful and visible impact in the community, to deepen relationships with all who also contribute to the well-being of our community, while reaching out broadly in new ways to build new relationships.

We feel that on a personal level our members gain the most personal satisfaction in our various roles by continuing to give without any expectation of personal return.
